Why you can’t update Fluctus Telemetry from the App Store anymore

Silicdyne Fluctus Telemetry was an application built with the Xamarin framework. Microsoft ended Xamarin support in 2024, and the last Xamarin toolchain targets up to Xcode 15—with no new SDK/API updates planned.
Because Apple’s App Store submission requirements keep moving forward, Xamarin-based apps eventually became non-compliant for new submissions/updates early-2025.
The latest update currently available on the store is version 1.7. To benefit from all the latest improvements to the Fluctus firmware (version 1.8 and above), you will need to download and install the updated app outside of the store. This process is called “sideloading”.
This guide will walk you through the steps.

What you need
- A Windows PC with iTunes or Mac, + a USB cable
- Sideloadly downloaded from the official site
- An Apple Account (Apple ID) on your iPhone
Step 0 – Put the iPhone in Developer Mode
Apple requires Developer Mode to run apps installed outside the App Store on iOS 16 and later.
- On your iPhone, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Scroll down to Developer Mode.
- Turn Developer Mode ON.
- Accept the prompt to restart.
- After reboot, confirm Turn On and enter your passcode.
Step 1 – Download the Fluctus Telemetry IPA
Download and save the application file somewhere easy to find.

Step 2 – Install Sideloadly
- Install Sideloadly from:
- Official site: sideloadly.io
- Windows: if your iPhone isn’t detected, you typically need Apple device drivers via iTunes.
Step 3 – Connect & prepare the iPhone
- Plug your iPhone into your computer via USB.
- Unlock the iPhone.
- If prompted: tap Trust This Computer on the iPhone and enter your passcode.
- Windows: If detection is flaky, open iTunes once while the phone is connected.
Step 4 – Install the IPA with Sideloadly
- Open Sideloadly.
- In the device dropdown, select your iPhone.
- Drag & drop the IPA (
fluctustelem_1_8.ipa) into Sideloadly. - Enter the Apple ID (email) that is logged on your iPhone when asked.
- Click Start (or the equivalent install button) and wait until Sideloadly reports success. Log in to the Apple account with your password and 2FA when asked.

Why Sideloadly asks for your Apple ID
On iOS, apps must be code-signed with an Apple-issued certificate to run.
Sideloadly uses Apple’s personal development provisioning flow: it authenticates with your Apple Account on Apple servers, obtains a signing identity/provisioning profile, then signs the IPA so your device will accept it.
Sideloadly is a trusted software. You can use a secondary or dummy Apple account if that suits you better.
Trust the developer certificate on the iPhone
The first time you launch, iOS may say “Untrusted Developer”.
Fix:
- On iPhone: Settings → General → VPN & Device Management (or Profiles & Device Management)
- Tap the profile with the Apple ID you used
- Tap Trust
Now launch Fluctus Telemetry from the Home Screen.
Know the limitations
- With a free Apple ID, the sideloaded app typically expires after 7 days and must be re-sideloaded. Make sure to check that the app is working before heading to the launch site!
- With a paid Apple Developer Program account, it can last up to 1 year.
To renew: just sideload the same IPA again with the same Apple ID.
Common problems
- Device not detected: reinstall iTunes/iCloud drivers, try another cable/USB port, and make sure you tapped Trust on the iPhone.
- Developer Mode missing: try launching the installed app once to trigger the prompt, or connect to a Mac with Xcode once; then check Settings → Privacy & Security again.
